This was an exercise and mostly a guilty pleasure. I sat down and didn't get up until I had modeled and textured this robot. A day project is always fun.
Here is a breakdown of my process of modeling, rigging, and animating the character.
Later, I repurposed this character for a product promotion. The challenge was to "un-pose" the robot into a t-pose for rigging. I baked this pose before texturing! I'm not mad at my past self, since it was just a fun practice. There's a reason why the long typical process is needed.
